Today’s episode of the Pickleball Kitchen Podcast goes into the deep details of the social issues surrounding pickleball. Jana and I have been talking about doing this episode for a long time now. Finally, we decided to sit down and get it done. This is a very important episode because it really gets down to the core of what pickleball is all about.

We also talk about the future of pickleball. I saw something amazing the other night which I talk about in the podcast. To say the least, I’m very excited about where it’s going.

  1. I began playing pickleball about 12 years ago, now age 70. I used to enjoy it, but the popularity has caused me to lose interest, I think related to the variation in talent. I don’t like having to play within a clique, but mixing with lesser talent cost me enjoyment. Players mostly seem to over rate their ability. I can’t enjoy playing a game unless all four players are of somewhat equal talent. I can’t enjoy it when player or players consistently hit at the weak player – what fun is that? . . . I’ve had to step away from the game as I don’t see a solution, at least in my area, to growing mix of ability.
